The mushroom head nylon nail-in plug is a light-duty, two-part friction anchor used for fastening items to concrete, brick, and masonry. It consists of a pre-assembled nylon body (sleeve/plug) and a steel pin/screw.
Material: The body/sleeve is made of corrosion-resistant nylon, and the drive pin is typically zinc-plated or stainless steel.
Head Style: Features a mushroom-shaped head, which offers a larger surface area for a secure grip and can be removed.
Installation: Uses a quick and easy push-through, hammer-in installation method. Driving the pin into the nylon body expands the end of the plug, creating a friction hold against the wall of the pre-drilled hole. The pin also has a Philips/Pozi drive head for adjustment or removal.
Load Capacity: It is a light-duty anchor. Specific models can hold up to 12 kg, but they are not recommended for critical, overhead, life-safety, or sustained tensile loading applications.
Substrates: Suitable for use in concrete, stone, solid brick, solid block, and grout-filled block.
Common Applications
The plug is widely used by various trades for securing lightweight fixtures.
Installing electrical and plumbing fittings (e.g., conduit saddles).
Securing brackets, clips, and signs.
Fastening timber and plastic fixings.
