4140 HT (Heat Treated) shafting is a high-tensile, medium-carbon chromium-molybdenum alloy steel, commonly used for high-stress applications requiring superior strength and toughness.
It is typically pre-hardened to (or roughly ), providing excellent fatigue resistance and good machinability. Common uses include shafting, gears, axles, and pump shafts.
